– Wedding Party in Shinjuku, Jan 28th -
We held a little wedding & new year party with our friends resides in Tokyo area, to report our wedding. We had about 15 people – although 3 could not make it due to the flu!! darn flu virus! – drinking, chatting and laughing for 3 hours, then onto additional 2 hours!
It was so much fun, and we would like to express our gratitude for all who joined in and also for who could not make it but sent us flowers.
We all agreed, that we should get together to drink & smile again soon; so let’s!!
Thank you, thank you and Thank you!
Midori & Daniel
Snow Snow Snow!!!
Holy Cow! We got piles of snow this morning!!! All Whity & Beautiful!!!
How-so-ever, everything was not too cozy this morning; I ride a bike to the station in the morning & it took me double the time!!
For poor poor Daniel, it was worse!!
He decided to take a bus as many would do (I only take bike for I have to get kids after work, cannot be late due to the bus delay etc) turned out, it was a bad call!!!!
He took like over an hour to get to the station and then to train… altogether it took him 4++hours!
Besides that, all scenary coverd in white is quite awesome!
Ciao
Hattalica & Megade-cyu in Shimokitazawa :-)
Hi all! Headbanging (*゜◇゜)y I & my sis went to see the “The big 4″ metal copy-band gig on Jan. 15th Sunday; the “big 4″ refers Metallica, Megadeth, Anthrax and Slayer! Believe it or not, we have a copy band for all of them in Japan!! and they do this get together gig once a year I guess.
The opening was a copy band of Testament; another favs of mine! It was quite cool, buttttt the following Megade-cyu was… oh no!!! Maybe I expected too much? or that Metallica copy band was so perfect?
Anyways, the whole thing lasted for 5’30″ hours, quite fun!!! I think, each member of the band has their own original band (except Metallica? dunno) and they do this as a promotion or something. I sure want to go original bands, but it’s quite rare they come to Japan! and it’s so pricy!! so we go there to blast from time to time v(≧∇≦)v
Till next time, Adios!!! Keep banging!!!

(above; you can see my sis right behind drummer on the main page foto! it was taken at the Ginza gig; Yeahh!! – I was hidden by that drummer..!)
Christmas Date! Movie x Korean BBQ
Tom Cruise still got it! He has all his macho body with handsome face and sweet action! Yeaahhh!
-> We went to see “Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol” on the last weekend, followed by Korean BBQ.
I loved this movie!!
I am not a big fan of Cruise (rather I like Jet Lee, Jason Statham etc, bold macho guy in action movie!), yet this movie was really entertaining! I’d say it’s the best this year, followed by Expendables and Salt.
Walking under all the X’mas illumination, we went to enjoy Korean BBQ.
It was whole alot of meat and spicy feast! I’d still smell like garlic after overnight. We did some X’mas shopping and sending out stuff, so we were pretty much beaten after all those activities. Speaking of, Daniel went to cut his hair at my friend’s hair salon in the neighbourhood. Guess he enjoyed the refreshing experiment v(≧∇≦)v
Some fotos will follow!
Since we have a national holiday on Fri, this week is the last working 4 days before we go to Hokkaido, to my parent’s house. Gonna pack!
Später!

Anthrax Gig: Cancelled!!!!!
OMGGGGGggg! I was so looking forward to this! Anthrax Live! and it was cancelled just before the date! WT*!!!!
I actually didn’t know it was cancelled till the exact date, so I met up with sis at the closest station (Shibuya, one of the biggest in Tokkyo) and then my sis told me this “unfortunate” event…. we just had to go for glasses of beer instead! and it was quite a fun nontheless, so okay
The source says the cancellatio is due to some health conditions of family member of the band, or something which noone really believes when they were doing just rollin on other areas. Darn! Personally, I think it’s a luck of communication or persuation of agency here in Japan; they are quite famous for their lousy job!
Anyways, it’s a X’mas time!! It’s all in the air! I just heard from this morning’s news that more people are going for domestic/oversea travel over the new year’s holiday in Japan. That’d do some good for our economy! We, too gonna enjoy snowy white X’mas in onsen in Hokkaido
yeah!
Only 4 work days to go till vacation time! Hang on!
Have a very Merry Christmas!!
Hattalica in Ginza!
Wwwwww Whiplash! Metallica Rules!! Yeeeeaaahhhhh!!
Woops, sorry, got a little bitty carried away: I and my sis went to this Metallica copy band “Hattalica” (the only “officially” approved copy band by the original band!) in Ginza last night. It was awesome!! I heandbanged so hard, my neck hurts a bit
but it’s a good pain! Metallica Rules!!!! (their name, “Hattalica” => Hattali, means bluff, or to disguise, plus it rhymes with the “Metallica”).
It took place at one event hall, not at the live stage as usual: about 30-60 ppl were packed in there, shouting and head banging
. The band played most favorite songs of all the time such as Blackend, One, Whiplash and Battery etc etc. It was so cool!!!!
I never stopped being a big fan of heavy metal since I was in high school, been to many gigs in US & in Japan. Comparatively, I feel Japanese audience are much.. polite! to the band and to other audiences. which is okay. not all the time esp when it’s a heavy metal gig you are talking about
Break the chain! Come out!! Free yourself!!!
Anyways, I had a good time headbanging and I got to talk with members afterwards.
They are nice guys and played the songs perfectly!! Oh, and I got a drum stick!!! Yeeahh!!
Next gig: Anthrax in December! See you then, pals!!
Summer is leaving!!!
So sad, my favorite hot hot summer is about to end!! It is sweating, hate all those heat and steamy night. Buuttt, I still love it! Gives me a power to go on, feels alive!! (I’m pretty much frozen dead in winter!) Now 2 typhoon is on their way to sweep off the heat, calling for autumn-tum!!
Until next time, Adios Summer!!
Long Air Flight: hours of Torture or Joy?
So, Daniel doesn’t like a long flight: I love it!
I always enjoy long flights of 13 hours to NYC, Chicago or to Düsseldorf. Why not?! They provide drinks, meals, snacks, movies and games! I could live there! ;-)
Here is what I do: to adjust time gap, I only have a few hours of sleep on the night before the flight, so I can fall asleep as soon as my hip touches the seat! Sleep for first 5-6 hours, make sure no stewards bothers me with food/drinks beforehand. Then it’s show time! Champagne! Movies! Book readings! Things I can’t normally do/enjoy too much when I work harrrdd everyday.
So, to me, a long flight is a perfect way to start my holiday.
Hope you enjoy it, Daniel!
The Last Beer Garden!
It’s still summer! It’s Hot! Gonna go enjoy this heat in a best way possible
Answer: Beer Garden!!!
Unlike Germany, we only have beer garden during summer, mostly on top roof of the department store. I hop around here and there, finally I have found the best One!!! Various drinks, foods, spacious settings (important! Many places doesn’t allow too much space, rather squeeze in to the minimum room for two slim ppl -> Tokyo standard!), with nice breeze and scenery. I love this place so much, already gone 4 times this summer! Usually, they close at the end of Aug, not this summer!!! We have over 30 degree everyday in September compared to typhoon chilly August: they decided to extend for 2 more weeks! What a nice call!
Prost to the Beer Garden!!
